WATCH THE JUDAS X IWTV (AMC) EDIT
Source Material: Interview with the Vampire (AMC)
Music: “Judas” by Lady Gaga
Year: 2024
THE CONCEPT
This edit draws from a moment in Interview with the Vampire where betrayal becomes one of the central themes of the story.
In the series, Armand kisses Louis moments before allowing him to be captured. This is an act that mirrors one of the most famous images in Christian iconography: the Kiss of Judas.
The show’s visual language and narrative framing already evoke religious symbolism, making the connection almost unavoidable. The edit amplifies that symbolism by pairing the scene with the song “Judas” by Lady Gaga, transforming the moment into a commentary on betrayal that transcends the show’s narrative.

CREATIVE APPROACH
This piece introduced a new stylistic layer to my workflow: classical paintings.
The betrayal of Judas has been depicted repeatedly across centuries of Western art. By integrating these paintings directly into the edit, it situates the show’s storyline inside a much older visual tradition.
Because Interview with the Vampire already embraces gothic aesthetics, the integration of classical imagery also feels native to the show’s visual world rather than an external reference.

Berghain – Rosalía (Frankenstein 2025)
Rosalía’s track “Berghain” underscores a visual meditation on Frankenstein and the creature he brings to life. Through mirrored imagery and slow, atmospheric cuts, the edit blurs the line between creator and creation, and caught the attention of Guillermo del Toro himself.

Judas – Lady Gaga (Interview with the Vampire AMC)
Using Lady Gaga’s “Judas” as its backbone, this edit reinterprets Armand’s betrayal of Louis (AMC’s Interview with the Vampire) through a biblical lens. Public domain religious paintings are intercut with the series to create visual comparisons between sacred iconography and the show’s tragic arc.
